Turbiville Electric is proud of being a Baldor Electric distributor for over 50 years, and we are western South Dakota’s largest motor distributor. Now that Baldor is a part of ABB, we have availability of any size or type of motor. We stock industrial motors, farm duty motors, commercial motors, worm gearboxes, motor mounting bases, conversion rails, pulleys, sprockets, and motor parts. We also have many A.O. Smith, Century, and Fasco HVAC motors and a wide selection of mounting kits for HVAC motors. Through the years we have developed many supplier relationships to be able to handle all of our customer’s motor needs.
Because of our long experience and technical knowledge, we are expert at solving motor application problems. Not only can we determine and find the right motor, but if necessary we can modify, convert, or even manufacture a solution.
A power plant required one spare 200/50hp, 880/440rpm motor to fit three different 60-year old motor mountings. We found the best prints available for the obsolete motors then verified dimensions in the field and drafted each one in our CAD software (shown in green). Then we specified a new Baldor motor and made superimposed drawings as shown. From these drawings we developed engineering plans for the three sets of conversion rails for construction in a fabrication shop. At the end we supplied our customer with a single spare motor and rails to fit the three applications
This custom conversion base was designed by us using CAD software and built in our shop.
The conversion to replace an old mixer gearbox was designed and built by us.
The new mixer gearbox accepts a standard C-face motor and the mixer shaft is supported by replaceable double tapered roller bearings.
Resistance Temperature Devices (RTD's) to sense bearing temperature were installed in a new 150hp motor in our shop
A Baldor C-face brakemotor, ratio multiplier and gearbox were installed on a new diverter instead of the manufacturer's gearmotor to provide a modular, easily replaceable drive. The conversion mount was designed by us using CAD software and built in our shop.
This is a motor we have custom built by Baldor to our specifications to fit Prill coal stokers. It is 1/4hp, 1725rpm, 115 volt with special 5/8" double shafts to fit out-of-production stokers made by Prill Brothers.
We designed a new motor mount so this obsolete fan could be re-used, saving the customer much remodeling work.
Recognized internationally as the leader in the electrical and mechanical apparatus sales, service and repair industry, EASA provides an ongoing flow of industry information and education that helps members worldwide serve as total solution providers for electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
